How PicLens Lite Works
It's simple. PicLens Lite reads a Media RSS feed of photos and videos from your site and then outputs a Flash®-based filmstrip-style presentation that mimics the PicLens interface that many users love. To activate the feed, all you need to do is configure your Media RSS feed, and add a line of javascript and a customizable "Start PicLens Lite slideshow" button to your site.
PicLens Lite works across virtually all major browsers. It does not require your site visitors to have our popular PicLens browser add-on installed if they already have Adobe Flash 9.0.28 or higher. Visitors using our PicLens browser add-on can get additional features, including the ability go straight into full-screen mode, jump to the corresponding webpage of the image, and more.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between PicLens and PicLens Lite?
- What do my site visitors need to do to enjoy my immersive slideshows?
- Can I add audio or video?
-
PicLens is a free browser add-on that allows web surfers to view media full-screen across the web on poplular websites such as Google Images, Yahoo, Flickr, Facebook, and more. PicLens Lite, on the other hand, is what allows webmasters to create immersive slideshows for all visitors, regardless of whether or not they have the PicLens add-on installed.
-
It's as easy as clicking a "start slideshow" button you place into your site. Your visitors must have Adobe Flash Player v.9.0.28 or higher, or our free PicLens browser add-on. Visitors without Adobe Flash 9.0.28 and PicLens are tastefully prompted to upgrade their system. Alternatively, visitors have the option to view instead a simplified presentation we adapted from Lytebox, a derivative of Lightbox 2.
